I currently have a no awards policy.
The giving and receiving of awards gives the heart great pleasure. Recognition from your peers is something that we all strive for, and putting that back into the circle is a wonderful thing to do. Alas, I am one of those who likes to shy away from personal credits and focus instead on just trying to sharpen my blog wit. As PhoTraBlogger so wonderfully puts it – “I am more of a carefree kind of person and would love to run away from avoidable responsibilities”.
Every bit of notice I receive is greatly appreciated, and if you are to mention me I may well post a link on this page.
Not accepting the recognition is a hard thing to do, but it doesn’t mean I don’t appreciate the thought 🙂
I just hope to contribute and acknowledge the blogging community in other ways.
I did acknowledge one award before making this decision, and the post can be seen here. It slipped through the net before I had a chance to fully comprehend how I felt about awards, and to draft some kind of notice that would not only do justice to the wonderful work of others, but justify my own personal choice to refrain from partaking in awards.
From now on, I will always say thank you for the thought, but I cannot accept.
Thanks a bunch for understanding, and also for the blog lovin’ 🙂
